San Mateo Mom and Kids Robbed Near School

News reports claim that the 36-year-old mother of the two children who were 6 and 13 years old was robbed as the three were walking in the 700 block of Indian Avenue, near North Humboldt Avenue. According to police, at around noon an armed gunman confronted the woman and demanded her property. Police say the robbery took place near the College Park Elementary School and that the male suspect fled on foot heading south after taking the woman’s property. Police went in pursuit of the suspect, but did not locate him.
The suspect was described to be in his teens or early twenties, approximately 6 feet tall with a stocky build. It is believed he is white or perhaps a light-skinned Latino. Police believe the suspect was armed with a handgun. Those with information are asked to contact the San Mateo Police Department.
